CSU FLOOR HOCKEY
In 1983, six members of the Kula family embarked on a not-so-unfamiliar venture. They decided to play in the CSU intramural floor hockey league. Mike, Mark and Bob would play offense, Tony Sr. and Randy would play defense, and Ken would play goalie. Playing hockey for years at family functions would soon determine how good they would stack up against the competition. And bringing back Ken and Tony was not just a novelty. They were key members on the defensive side of the floor. Offensively, led by the Mike-Mark-Bob line, during a stretch of 3 games, the Kula's scored 24 unanswered goals! The Kula's also had a second unit of non-Kula's who would put the clamps down on the opposing team, allowing the Kula's to take a needed rest.
The Kula's came back to play a second season in 1984, but only Tony Sr, Bob and Randy could commit. The team folded mid-season, due scheduling changes at CSU.
