KULA'S YARDBALL PAGE

In 1997, the Kula's teamed up to play in the inaugural edition of Yard Ball. On June 28th, they played at Edgewater Park and won 2 games. The 1st victory came on a Grand Slam homer from Gary with 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th, when trailing by 3 runs. Bob pitched a shutout to take the 2nd game. On July 5th, a total team effort offensively and defensively allowed the Kula's to win game #1. In the divisional championship game, each player did his part. Hitting by Randy set the table for Ken to hit a 2-run homer to take a 2-0 lead. Ken hit a second homer of the game to lead 3-0. Dan pitched a shutout and Bob turned in a sterling performance at shortshop. Bob's full extension dive will be talked about for years to come.
